Oregon Response to Instruction and Intervention (ORTIi) is pleased to present the 1st day of the 2021 ORTIi Annual Conference Series. This first day, Building Multi-Tiered Systems on a Foundation of Equity, took place on February 17, 2021.

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, or MTSS, provides a useful framework for delivering what each and every student needs. But these multi-tiered systems must be built upon a foundation of equitable mindsets and practices in order to truly address the needs of all our students, regardless of race, gender, language, disability status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

Day 2:
Ensuring Inclusive Practices for Students with Disabilities

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, or MTSS, is an effective framework for providing the level of instructional support and coordination necessary for our students with disabilities to be successful.  

Please join us for this half day exploring best practices in ensuring our students with disabilities receive a high quality and inclusive education. Following an opening keynote from Dr. Chris Lemons, breakout session topics will include Universal Design for Learning, supporting students with Dyslexia, assistive technology, ensuring high-quality IEPs, and more!

Day 3:
Effective Instruction Based in The Science of Reading

Literacy is a fundamental civil right, and it is our responsibility as educators to ensure that all children learn to read, regardless of race, gender, language, disability status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

Please join us for this half day exploring what we know about how children learn to read and how that impacts the instruction that is needed to ensure high levels of literacy for each and every student. Following an opening keynote from Dr. Steve Dykstra, breakout session topics will include the word reading and language comprehension components of the Simple View of Reading, as well as how we can engage educators, families, and communities in moving towards more effective reading instructional practices.

In the closing keynote, Dr. Archer will reflect on the ideas and content from the first 3 days of the 2021 ORTIi Conference Series and engage participants to think deeply around how their instructional practices can support and create equity for our students.
